Description
An attribute representing a standardized email address, following Narrative's prescribed normalization process. NQL exposes a function to make this easy: `NORMALIZE_EMAIL(field)`. This normalization removes periods and any content after the '+' sign for Gmail addresses, converts all characters to lowercase, and trims whitespace around the email. This ensures consistent formatting for email addresses for querying and data processing. This is the canonical input form for the hashed email attributes (74, 75, 76): hash the normalized email, never the raw one.

Produced in NQL as NORMALIZE_PHONE('E164', phone, 'US'), substituting the appropriate default country code. This is the canonical input form for sha256_hashed_phone_number (259).

SHA-256 Hashed Email
SHA-256 of a normalized email, `SHA2(NORMALIZE_EMAIL(email), 256)`: lowercase hex, 64 characters. Hashes of un-normalized emails won't join. The SHA-256 of an empty string, `e3b0c44298fc1c149afbf4c8996fb92427ae41e4649b934ca495991b7852b855`, isn't a hash of any email and reads as NULL.

SHA-256 Hashed Phone Number
A SHA-256 hashed representation of a phone number, normalized to E.164 international format including the leading plus sign (e.g. the SHA-256 of '+12127855334') prior to hashing. The hash is lowercase hexadecimal, 64 characters. Produced in NQL as SHA2(NORMALIZE_PHONE('E164', phone, 'US'), 256), substituting the appropriate default country code. Distinct from sha256_hashed_msisdn (379), which hashes the same number without the leading plus, and from sha256_hashed_phone_number_nsn (369), which hashes the national significant number with no country code. Hashes produced under those conventions will not join against this attribute.
